ABOUT MYSELF – I AM SHAMPA GHOSH, belonging from Tarakeswar a small town area in west Bengal. I’m 42 years old (22/3/1980).
By profession I am an adolescent health counselor/psychologist and doing a state govt. job. I am doing masters in 3 subjects like psychology, sociology and Bengali literature and also doing nutrition courses from ICMR & NIN. DEPRESSION MANAGEMENT FROM Alison university. Taking govt. training on counseling on adolescent health from Kolkata university.
ACHIEVEMENT- By choice I am a social worker/activist doing social work from last few years. My one of the memorable work is there is a remote village in West Bengal names BALLAVIPUR, where living women adolescents girls are not aware about their genital health and good health practices started to work for them through continuous awareness counseling, monitoring and providing sanitary napkins from long days, arranged gynecological camp by specialist doctors and provide them free of cost medicine. After that now the community has been changed. They have no issues about genital health now they are happy. Except this I arranged eye camp by doctors and able to do many cataract operation, completely free of cost also given free of cost glass also. A schedule tribe school in our area learning articles for year, like this I am doing various types of social works also able to stop early child marriages .
My barriers – I frequently suffering from different disease, hospitalized is very common for me. copd, brain arterial problems are makes me ill with other comorbities problem. I am spending money for social work from my own earning .By I will not be stopped . I dream for nation, doing something changeable work for nation that change the society positively.
Extra curriculum activities – I am a poetry writer in Bengali. My writing published in local area Bangladesh and Europe also. This journey new for me.
AIM- Stop to spread local myths, create awareness for self dependency, well being mental health, throughout all negativity in society. Make adolescents transform to good citizen.
