Myself Smt. Bhagyashri Abhay Kulkarni, Dhule.
I am a commerce graduate. I have been involved in many
activities during my school and college life. I have received
many awards in acting, elocution & poetry writing.
From past 20 years, I have been overseeing administration
department in our hospital along with my husband Mr.Abhay
Kulkarni, who is a Pediatrician. I started doing lot of social work
with an intent of how to alleviate people’s pain. I am doing this
work since 2011. To do these things in a better way, I started
an organization called “Snehadeep Pratishthan” ten years ago.
Here we work to help patients from leprosy hospital & old
people from old age homes, perform & arrange operations as
per requirement, distribute clothes, food, baby swings & milk
powders etc.
I work especially for homeless and mentally ill people. I go
and help any person immediately found roaming in city and
surrounding areas who is homeless and mentally unstable.
Most of the times these people even don’t have proper clothes
to wear. I help them to wear clothes and feed them. It is very
difficult to build their confidence. Due to all the bad experience,
they even don’t allow anyone to come near them.
It is important to get them admitted to hospital by giving
them assurance. Sometimes there are burn wounds on their
body. Many times, they even don’t realize that
they are pregnant, or their hands or legs are fractured. After the
necessary treatments, I ensure they get a permanent & safe
dwelling place to live. Unfortunately, number of
women patients are higher. Till date, I have helped almost 25
men and women.
Small children and women lose their mental stability due to
personal issue in their life. To help reduce the mental stress in
children caused due to studies, I do their counselling free of
cost. Also, I provide free consultation to those who go for
divorce due to family arguments.
From last 7 to 8 years, I arrange water tankers everyday on
my own expenses in rural areas facing water scarcity in
summer. I am also active in field of literature right from my
college days. It involves story writing, poetry, and fine writing. I
was also involved in column writing called “Maziya Mana” in
daily newspaper “Lokmat” for the past one year. It received a
good public response.
My two-anthology named, “Sonpahat” & “Onjalitley Moti” are
ready while third one named “Gondan” is on the way for
publication.
“Onjalitley Moti”, has received many awards, one being
“V.D.Savarkar” award received from Sudhir Moghe . I also
organize shows by name “Onjalitley Moti”.
Also received many awards for my social work, like
“Maharashtra Gauvrav”, “Nariratna Puraskar” etc. Also received
“ Ahilyabai Holkar” award from government.
